Hola!!

Today we learned how to use Zotero! Before getting into Zotero, I was little bit suspicious about the website because I could not believe the MLA format's citation could be that easy. It was actually easy and I felt a little surprise and a little embarrassment because I did not know it and what I was doing for citation was time consuming. It will not only help my academic career in ICU but also in my entire life!!

Here is some examples of the citation by using Zotero! I cited them because I am writing about age discrimination on my essay of ARW class.

Homework 15th Sep

The results of the questionary

This is the homework of 15th September in Dan's R&P.

I did a questionary to my classmates about favorite fruits and found out an interesting data.

Question 1: Do you like bananas?

Question 2: Do you like apples?

 Question 3: How often do you eat fruit

Interesting enough, bananas are less popular than apples among the young. Although half of people do not like bananas, most people like apples. I think I can say the target of this questionary is not only the young but also girls because my classmates are mostly girls. I was surprised because my assumption was that most girls like bananas.

Secondly, the data of the third chart shows an interesting fact that everyone eats fruits to some extent because no one answer for "never." And yet it seems like it is not enough for the young to have fruits sometimes in terms of health. To obtain a healthy body, we need to consume some amount of fruits on a daily basis.

To sum up, everyone eats fruits on a daily basis but we need to have more. In my opinion, I like google forms because I use them a lot when I need to collect the numbers of participants. I really want to learn useful tools more!!

How do you think the tools or strategies that you will learn in this class will be helpful for your academic research? 

I think the tools or strategies that I will learn in this class will be helpful for my academic research in three ways.

First of all, Zotero, a website that can make questionaries easily, will help me to be able to use primary sources in my academic writing. I have learned how to use and cite secondary sources, but I have not yet learned how to use primary sources such as questionaries. After taking this course, I hope I will be able to use a variety of sources so that I can write more academic writings.

Secondly, Evernote, a cloud note website, will make me be able to gather and share information easily. I believe that by using Evernote I can save my time googling on a particular information because I can ask others to google for it and share it online. These days, more and more info is online, so it is hard to gather good information by myself. It is better to spread tasks with a certain groups and work together.

Finally, by taking this class, I think I will be able to type faster. In this class I expect to have a lot of assignments that are needed to be typed. I am quite confident at typing but not as good as I want to. Technology is getting needed these days even more than it used to. It is the time to get the knowledge of tech and exploit it.

How comfortable are you using technology for learning? What devices and apps do you use now that help you in your life as student? 

I love using electric devices and new technology, so I am very comfortable using them.

I use Evernote a lot and I use Mac book pro, I pod touch, I pad mini, and Toshiba computer. I also use a wireless bluetooth keyboard for typing in classes.
